Refill your lighter in 5 steps
Safe, fast, and hassle-free. Works with all PyroProducts lighters.
First check these 3 things
In 90% of cases, the issue is here, not with an empty lighter.
Lock check
Is the lighter set to lock? Slide the button back to the open position.
Gas station
Is the gas set to the lowest level? Turn it to the middle. We recommend always using all lighters on the medium gas setting for the best performance.
Refill
Still not working? Then follow the 5 steps below to refill.
Step by step
Bleed the lighter
Hold upright, press the fill valve with a flat screwdriver until the hissing stops. Shake gently and repeat until nothing escapes.
Set flame to lowest setting
Turn the flame knob to the minimum (–). This prevents overpressure during filling and gas spraying.
Fill upside down with butane
Now hold the lighter upside down. Press the gas canister firmly straight onto the valve for 5-8 seconds. Repeat up to 3 times without a spraying sound.
Let acclimate
The butane gas is ice-cold immediately after filling. Let the lighter come to room temperature for 2-5 minutes before lighting it.
Set flame to medium setting
Turn the flame knob back to the middle. We recommend the middle setting for the best performance. Ignite and enjoy.
Which gas do you use?
Butane Gas 45 PSI
Specially for jet flame and torch lighters. Provides a clean, powerful flame.
View lighter gas →Universal lighter gas (propane)
Too low pressure for torch lighters. The flame remains weak or burns irregularly.
Always pay attention to these things
Frequently asked questions
We recommend using all PyroProducts lighters on the medium gas setting. Too low = weak flame, too high = unnecessary gas consumption and risk of poor ignition.
Three possible causes: gas level is too low (turn to the middle), wrong gas used (our torch lighters only work with butane gas 45 PSI), or the lighter is still too cold after refilling (wait 10 minutes).
A full tank (7 grams of gas) is good for about 80-120 ignitions, depending on how long you keep the flame on each time. Preferably refill when the flame gets weaker, not only when it is completely empty.
Butane evaporates less effectively below freezing point. If your lighter doesn’t ignite immediately in cold conditions, it’s usually due to the temperature, not the lighter. Keep it briefly in your hand or indoors before using it.
