Refill lighter

We often receive messages through our customer service about why a lighter does not work immediately after receipt, or how a "broken" lighter can be repaired.

Often a lighter that you have just received or has only had for a short time is not actually broken. First you have to empty the lighter you have at home, refill it and adjust the flame size. Often, in 90% of cases, most problems have already been resolved. 

You bought a storm lighter from us, and now you want to know. How do I refill a storm lighter sensibly? With which gas? etc. On this page we will explain exactly how you can do this independently with a few simple steps and tips. 

Firstly, all our lighters are only half filled from the factory. This is a legal rule to comply with safety requirements. Therefore, depending on use, you may have to refill quite soon after purchase.

• Step 1:Make sure you have not used your lighter for at least 10 minutes before filling it. It must be back to room temperature before filling/emptying the lighter.
  
  
• Step 2:Now make sure the lighter is completely empty. To ensure that your lighter is really completely empty, you must hold the lighter in an upside-down position. Then take an object with a point (for example a pen) and press it in a controlled manner on the center valve. (pay attention to your own safety, keep sufficient distance from your face) There is a small pin through which the remaining gas can escape from the lighter. Repeat this a few times to make sure your lighter is completely empty. 
  
  
• Step 3: Now take your gas filling, pay attention. It is important to use butane gas (45 psi pressure recommended) from a good brand to ensure proper functioning of your lighter. Our torches are very sensitive to different types of gas and mixing them together can reduce the effectiveness of your lighter. That is why it is very important to completely empty your lighter first. 
  
  Now take the gas bottle, shake it back and forth a few times and press the valve of the gas bottle precisely and hard on the valve of the lighter. Do this for about 3 seconds and repeat a maximum of 3 times. Make sure that you do not hear a squirting sound because this means that the gas bottle is not filling properly and may even blow air into the lighter and then there will not be proper combustion. 
  
  Pay attention to your hands when filling, the gas can be very cold so it is advisable to put a washcloth between your hand and the bottle or you can also use safety gloves
  
  
• Step 4:After filling, it is very important that you give your lighter time to return to room temperature. Therefore, give him at least 5/10 minutes of rest. 
  
  After resting, try to ignite your lighter slowly on a medium setting and not immediately on a high setting. 
  
  
  
  Tips:
  
  
• Do not wait until the lighter is completely empty before refilling, as this could cause the lighter to become clogged. When the flame starts to get lower, you should refill the lighter with new lighter gas. Take refueling by car as an example.
  
  
• Butane gas lighters have problems with ignition when the temperature is below 19 degrees Celsius. If the lighter does not ignite in a cold temperature, there is nothing wrong with the lighter, but it is simply too cold for the lighter.
  
  
• Fill your lighter in a safe place. We recommend putting it in the sink in your kitchen. Never use near open flames and always consider your own safety. 
  
  You can also suffer thermal injury and it is therefore important to cover your hands well against any squirting gas as the temperature of this gas is deep in the freezing point.
